1 Scrapbooking - Moe

Sunday, May 31, 2009

Moe was our Blue Great Dane.... unfortunately when we had the twins (and my DH broke his leg) we just weren't the kind of dog owners Moe deserved and we wanted to be. After screening countless new parents for Moe we found the perfect family for him (with four shitzus LOL). We had just moved to Kelowna when I became pregnant so Moe was my constant companion... we would walk to starbucks and have 'coffee' together :D I sure do miss that dog!!!!!

This LO is another B.C. (before kids) layout. I love the Basic Grey patterned paper and white rub-ons. I used a stencil to cut out the letters then used white acrylic paint to dry brush the edges.

Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to give your four legged babies a HUG from me :)

2 Scrapbooking - Margaret Falls

Friday, May 29, 2009

Margaret Falls can be found while hiking through Harold Provincial Park in BC. There are actually a whole series of falls along the creek -we found these ones while geocaching (see below).

These photos truly capture the moment! My step-dad climbed up the rock embankment to jump off of the falls - and my dog, Max, followed him right up and off!

If you haven't heard me talking about geocaching then you've been living under a rock.... or we need to go out for coffee more often!!!! LOL I LOVE geocaching!!!!! You're going to ask me what it is.... and I'm going to tell you to check out the website. :P Basically geocaching is a global treasure hunt with a GPS that is fun for the whole family! And cheap too (all you need is internet access and a Global Positioning System that costs about $100). After you've got your GPS, go to http://www.geocaching.com/, search for a cache (aka treasure) near your home, input the coordinates for the treasure into your GPS and follow the arrow!!!! TRY IT! You'll be hooked!

Have a great weekend... maybe you'll go geocaching???!!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

Another Mojo Monday sketch, another Mojo Monday card :D

I used Basic Grey patterned paper, CTMH cardstock, CTMH brads, ribbon from Michaels, CTMH Treetops stamp set, CTMH black ink, a Prima butterfly and my sewing machine.

I'm glad that you could stop by!!! Hope you're having a fabulous week!

2 Coaster Mini Album - Family

Sunday, May 24, 2009

This album was created for my children. We don't have any family in town so I filled it with photos of our close relatives (the idea came from my friend AMY). I love that the boys will be able to flip through the pages and see their family any time that they want to!

I used CTMH's NEW Treetops stamp set for my front page.

More treetops stamped with cocoa ink.

I used scraps from my Notebook paper pack.

Don't be afraid to cut your photos! :D

I'm trying to use up some of my letter stickers... hence the 'eclectic' look :P

Brads from CTMH and flowers from the DS.

Saved my Bro and Sis for last...

Thanks for stopping by!

1 Accordian Coaster Albums

Saturday, May 23, 2009

I had to play around with some of the new paper packs from CTMH! I created a few more of these cute little Coaster Albums, the instructions can be found here, they are so easy to make!

I used K & Company patterned paper, CTMH edge anchors, CTMH ribbon and Prima butterfly for this one.

I thought that our new creative basics paper lends itself to holiday themed things - so here's my take on it...

And finally our new Moon Doggie paper... very FUN :D

I can't say goodbye without a few flowers from the garden....

I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend with friends and family! Goodbye.

2 Mail Bag....

I was thrilled to find that a package had arrived in the mail the other day - all the way from Florida (it takes weeks to get anything from my Uncle Cam in Tallahasee)! When I opened it I was so excited to see the it was my Pay It Forward gift from Leslie at Panda Scrapper (I had been one of the first five people to comment on one of her posts). YAY! And what a gift it is!

I found this gorgeous card inside.... (don't you love the pop dotted flower?)

Wrapped carefully under the card was this cute little box.....

Filled with a whole bunch of 3x3 cards! Wholy Cow!

Aren't these cards just adorable?

Leslie had packaged everything up in a white little box called a "decorate me" box. Soooo I just had to decorate it! Here's my finished box!

I used CTMH Key to my Heart patterned paper, CTMH black brads, a label maker and ribbon from Michaels.

Leslie, thanks SO much for all of these great gifts! You've inspired me to get busy crafting :D

I also recieved my first order from our new Summer Idea Book on Friday. I made quick work of some of my new paper packs... post to follow :D Interested in taking a look at the new Summer Idea Book? Email me and I'll make sure you get one!

What a great way to start off the weekend! Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous day!

2 Card - Mojo Monday 87

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

These cards are my second attempt at a Mojo Monday sketch. I used Sandylion patterned paper, 'sabrina' rub-ons from MM, flowers from the DS and brads from CTMH.

Have a fabulous Thursday!

0 Scrapbooking - B.C.

Scrapbooking - Before Children

The minute that, as a young child, I could safely hold scissors and glue; I became a scrapbooker! I have a library of scrapbooks... well maybe not THAT many.... but lots! I used to scrapbook on 8 1/2 x 11" sheets of cardstock - maybe I'll post those sometime... although it might take me forever! Anyway I did get a chance to take some photos of one of my older books where I began to start scrapbooking using 12 x 12" sheets of paper.... ENJOY!

Moe was four months old in these pictures. He's a Blue Great Dane and was a wonderful companion! I miss you Moe!

This dog park was a favorite spot to take the dogs. They could run and sniff off leash 'til their hearts content!

Obviously Max loves the water! He would actually climb up the nearly vertical ladder to my parents pool to be the first to jump in!

In the photo on the right Max was trying to run away with parts of a geocache - silly dog! lol

Thanks for stopping by! Hope that you had a GREAT weekend!

1 Sewing - Dammit Doll

Thursday, May 14, 2009

I made this cute little guy for one of my husbands co-workers who wanted a camoflauged Dammit Doll. These dolls are so easy to make! I have a whole bunch of them just waiting for our next craft fair :D

"When you feel the need to stand up and shout
here's a little dammit doll you cannot do without
just grasp it firmly by the legs and find a place to slam it
and as you beat it's stuffing out yell
dammit, dammit, dammit!"

4 Card - Mojo Monday 86

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Okay so it's no longer Monday (more like VERY early Tuesday morning) but I wanted to finish posting this card. It is my first attempt at creating a card from a sketch found at Mojo Monday.

I really like how this card turned out! Everything (except the middle brad) is from CTMH. I used the NEW stamp set and embellishments from the Tickled Pink Scrapbooking Kit that you can earn for FREE (ask me how). I created the patterned paper using twilight, sweet leaf and crystal blue inks.

I layered the middle flower using pop dots and a brad from Michaels. The other flowers were made by punching out circles of black, twilight and white CS, crumpling them all up, then attaching the circles together with a brad from the white daisy mini medley collection.

Thanks for looking! Hope that you had a fabulous Monday!

2 Happy Mother's Day!

Sunday, May 10, 2009

Some of the gorgeous flowers in my Mom's garden...

I found this fabulous tutorial for a trinket box over at wonderfully whimsy (I just love that blog) and had to try one myself! I made this using scraps of patterned paper, cardstock and chipboard I had lying around. It took about six hours to make (half of that time I embellished the box while watching TV). I gave this gorgeous little Trinket Box to my mom for Mother's Day!

The entire 'centre' of the box was made using cardstock - I used chipboard for the top and bottom.

The patterned paper is from K&Company.

I rumaged through my embellishment bin and used up a lot of the great doo-dads that I had been saving forever!

I used some CTMH rub-ons, ribbon and brads. WARNING this project uses A LOT of tape (Rachel is not kidding!) LOL

I altered this box using Mod Podge and CTMH Creative Basics PP. I had intended to give this to MIL for Mother's Day but gave her the coaster brag book that I had intended for her birthday LOL. I thought that she should have it now as the photos will be sorely outdated if I didn't give it to her soon! Maybe I'll save this little box for her birthday now :D

I found this little wooden box at Michael's for $1.00.

I simply mod podged the paper onto the box and added embellishments!

I hope that you all had a Fabulous Day! Thanks for stopping by!
