1 Scrapbooking - Toilet Paper...

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

happens to a mischief maker. This layout explains why, when you come to our house, the bathroom door is always CLOSED.

Sketch from Inspired Blueprints #24 - my take on Helen's layout. I used: Memory Keepers and Basic Grey PP, reflections owl, CTMH waxy flax, MM 'paper' letters, CTMH white marker, misc. buttons, ribbon and 'toilet' letters.

1 Scrapbooking - Bubbles

Ahhh bubbles! What a lifesaver on a rainy day or when stuck in traffic (yes, I blow bubbles in the van - I'll take cleaning soap spots over two screaming babes any day). Bubbles make for great photo ops too! Generally they'll sit still for bubbles and I can snap a few candid shots while they are momentarily distracted! hee hee!

The goods:

Patterned Paper - Basic Grey and Memory Keepers
Cardstock - CTMH
Brads and rub ons - CTMH
Misc. - button, flower and cuttlebug swirl

My inspiration came from 52 Sketches 52 Weeks Sketch #20.

1 Sewing - Leg Warmers for Babies and Children

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

One of my twins, Cameron the 'bum scootcher', began to develop diaper rashes from his mode of transportation. I thought that there must be some way that I could keep his legs warm while airing out his posterior. This quest ended in the creation of Legz - Leg warmers for babies and children.

Since my original design I have combined new fabrics and patterns and created a variety of sizes; 6-12 months, 12-24 months, 2-3 years and 3-4 years (long and short). Legz are made of durable flannel or fleece material with ribbing on each end to keep them from slipping about.

I have found Legz to be useful when children are learning to crawl (extra padding on the knees), while roaming diaper free (to keep warm), for spring and fall under skirts when it is still to cold for tights, at the play gym for crawling through tunnels and over hard surfaces and I am sure to find more!

I currently have Legz available in all of the fabrics shown above (in a variety of sizes) and will have more patterns available in the fall (I just purchased glow-in-the-dark camo pink fabric for girls - the brown camo fabric pictured above is glow-in-the-dark).

If you would like more information or to contact me please email heatherpainchaud@hotmail.com. I hope to see you at a craft fair in the near future! Thanks for taking a peek!

1 Card - Mojo Monday 91

Monday, June 15, 2009

Happy Mojo Monday my friends! I have bit the bullet and created a Happy Father's Day card for my husband. The best part about this card is, unlike his gift, I don't have to hide it! He would never, in a million years be checking out my blog! Just getting him to look at some of my scrapbooking pages and projects is painful.... next time I'll just hold it up in front of me, nod my head and say 'nice' and it will be as if I had an actual conversation with him! LOL

The Goods:
Patterned Paper - Martha Stewart and CTMH Notebook
Cardstock - CTMH
All About U SS - old Stampin' Up (ugh it's actually painful to go back and use wooden block stamps... I will forever be a clear acrylic girl now!)
Brads - CTMH
Flowers and Ribbon - unknown

Thanks for checking in! Take care!

1 Card - July SOM Blog Hop Reject

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Well I haven't veered too far off of my Purple Felt path. I can't let a single scrap of the stuff escape my sticky grasp! I've been playing with CTMH's July Stamp of the Month - You've Got Flair (which you can earn for FREE, ask me how) - for our upcoming July Blog Hop. I decided to create my own Patterned Paper using this stamp set! Not my favorite project yet - the one I've got in mind for the Hop definitely 'stands' on it's own *wink*wink*nudge*nudge*

The goods:
You've Got Flair SS - CTMH
Treetops SS - CTMH
Celebrate You SS- old SU
Cardstock - CTMH
Felt and ribbon - Michaels
Black ink - CTMH
Eggplant Envy Ink - old SU

My inspiration for these cards was from Vicki at the Wizard's Hangout - she's been making the cutest 'double scraplings' like crazy!

Thanks for taking a look at my rejects - hope I didn't blind you!

0 Scrapbooking - Fire

Thursday, June 11, 2009

It's forest fire season here in the Okanagan! I thought that sharing this layout now would be appropriate! We discovered the remnants of the Okanagan Mountain Park Fire of 2003 while geocaching a couple of years ago.
A number of the historic railway trestles were completely destroyed in the fire and had just been replaced. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to once again hike along these scenic routes!

I used:
Basic Grey - Patterned Paper
Making Memories - metal embellishments, rub ons and brads
Stampin' up - cardstock

I'm off to coordinate recreation for the 24 Hour Relay! I hope that your weekend is as exciting and fun-filled as mine is sure to be!

1 Chipboard Mini Album

I made this cute little album for less than $9! Almost everything is from the Michaels dollar bins!!!! The black and white patterned paper was already the same shape and size of the chipboard - I feel like I cheated on this one LOL

I purchased some purple felt.... as felt is apparently the NEW 'thing'!! (Next I'll be making paper cupcakes! No really, I will! I already bought styrofoam balls for the 'tops'! SAD, I know!)

But back to the felt.... it was so easy to incorporate into this little album! I just cut out felt shapes (free hand) and put my embellishments on top! It added great dimension.

I also picked up a whole bunch of neat ribbon from a Thrift Store ($2 for a big bag)! Now to find the time to add all of that ribbon to my stash :)

I added a little sparkle to this page with my Sparkles from CTMH.

Have a fabulous day! I hope that you have been somewhat inspired by my purple felt monologue! :D

2 Card - Mojo Monday 90

My latest Mojo Monday card! I love how the purple and green look put together!!! The dark purple felt is a lighter colour in real life. I've been having fun with it! Check out my Felt Chipboard Album Post!
I used:
Patterned paper - Martha Stewart
Cardstock and brads - CTMH
Ribbon, felt and butterfly - Michaels

4 Altered Ribbon Spools

Sunday, June 7, 2009

I was bloggin' one day when I stumbled upon Amy's Blog. She's been organizing her craft room all week! Below is my attempt at ribbon organization..... and while winding all of those lovely ribbons onto pieces of cardboard I found that I was left with many, many empty ribbon spools! Here's what I've done with some of them....

I covered this spool with patterned paper and created a sort-of card. I wrapped cardstock around the spool - where the ribbon would normally go - and attached a button to hold the CS in place. I plan on adding sentiment to the inside of the black CS when I know who this little gift will be for!

Supplies:
Plaid brad and polka dot flower - Making Memories
Chipboard flower, ribbon and fibre - Michaels
Brad and 'Happy' - CTMH
Pattern Paper - Essentials Paperz
Button - Walmart

Tutorial

Altered Ribbon Spool Box

1. Take apart a ribbon spool

2. Cover the spool with patterned paper

3. Cover top and bottom of 'box'

4. Paint Mod Podge on everything!

5. Poke a hole in the spool.

6. Poke a hole in the 'lid'

7. Fasten a brad through the holes and decorate!

Supplies:
Patterned Paper - CTMH
Monster - Clipper Street
Flower - Dollar Store
Button - SU
Brad - Making Memories

I found inspiration for this project here. Now aren't you glad you stopped by? :P Have a fabulous day!
