Hey guys!
I am thrilled to share with you, this table makeover.
This was my submission for So You Think You're Crafty ~ Thrift Week.

p.s the competition is really tight this week ~ please go vote!
I picked up this table knowing that I could do something really fun with it.
I painted it white, distressed the finish and sealed it.  Then I decided to replace the rattan with a cushion.

I cut out a few pieces of heavy duty cardboard as my cushion base {this worked well for me as this is going into a child's room but plywood would be a better choice if you are looking for something more sturdy}.

Then I layered about 3" of cotton batting on top of the cardboard.

I cut my piece of fabric to size and used my hot glue gun to affix it to the bottom of the cardboard.

The cushion has a really fun shape.  I simply pulled and glued the fabric to get the effect that I wanted.

I used a measuring tape to mark where I wanted the buttons to go.

Then I stitched my buttons on, right through the fabric and cardboard.

Finally I lined the bottom of the cushion with a bit of cording and hot glue gunned the cushion onto my bench/table.

My finished project.

Thanks so much for visiting!
xoxo
