When the snow has melted {finally}, the sun is shining and the family is excited to go
geocaching!
Say what? Geocaching is essentially a high tech treasure hunt using a GPS enabled device. Check out the website and my other posts for more information. But seriously you should go. It's great, affordable family fun!
Here's Isaiah with a micro find this spring.
I am a huge advocate for geocaching. We love it.
So I am facilitating Geocaching ~ An Introduction For Families this spring! If you are in the Okanagan and are interested in attending please visit the City's website. I am really excited and have had a lot of interest and questions from families already.
Here's Cameron with his tradeable "treasure". A pin that says TFTC {thanks for the cache}.
Really the whole reason for this post is to share with you the supplies that we take when geocaching. I hope that you find it useful. Please click on the video below for a look at what's in our Geocaching Pack.
p.s. I forgot to add in the video that we also carry a small First Aid Kit.
Stocked with lots of Diego band-aids.
Thanks for reading.
I hope that you'll go geocaching and have an awesome time!
I have had a lot of fun meandering through the world of blogging. I began strictly as a Paper Craft Blog, opened up shop as a Party Blog and would now consider myself a Momma Blogger.
Sharing life with twins ~ all of the crafts, recipes and events along the way.

Thank you so much for joining me! It's a pleasure having you.
In celebration I am sharing with you this Quilted Pillow Tutorial and...
Giving. The Pillow. Away!
That's right my friends, you will have a chance to win this
gorgeous, hand crafted pillow!
But first a tutorial
{that you're sure not to need because you're planning on winning right?}
You'll start by cutting three strips of fabric 60" by 2 1/2" and sewing them together length wise using a 1/4" seam.
Once sewn you will iron the fabric and press the seams to lie flat.
Then cut your fabric into 6 1/2" squares.
A quilting square can be helpful for this step but not necessary.
You should have 9 squares of fabric. Lay them out on your surface until you find a pattern that you like. Here I was attempting to imitate a Chevron Pattern.
When you are happy with your layout start sewing your squares together using a 1/4" seam.
First you will sew column 1 together, then column 2 and finally column 3 {along the dashed lines}.
Then sew the three columns together {along the dotted lines}.
Here I have pressed my seams and am sewing a 1/4" seam.
When your pillow front is completed it should look like this and measure approximately 18 1/2" square. Attach to a 18 1/2" backing using a 1/4" seam and fill with a pillow form or stuffing.
Now who wants to skip the sewing step completely?

Ever get a song stuck in your head? This one. Most annoying. For sure.
And my kids don't even watch the "potty dance".
p.s. unless you want to go around singing
"right side across, left side across, do the {clap clap}, potty dance"
don't click on the video
*Caution ~ potty talk commencing...
So I totally had no expectations about potty training the boys. I figured 'What do I know. I've never taught someone to use the toilet before. Let's see how it goes.'
When Cameron turned two, over a year ago, one of the first sentences he strung together was "go pee on the potty?" Uh... okay? We stuck him on the toilet and away he went. It was pretty much that easy {with #1s, #2s were another story}.
Cameron {training last year}
A year later, just last month, I took a week off of work to potty train Isaiah.
Yes. That's right. For a whole year I've had one twin in ginch and one in diapers.
Hey whatever made them happy.
But seriously Isaiah's got the skills. He's got the knowledge. He's just had no interest.
So for three days I bribed him with jellybeans and trips to the circus {not really ~ but almost} to sit on the potty. I ran water in the tub and the sink. I gave him gallons of whatever liquid he wanted to drink. We sat in the bathroom, he on the potty, while I read stories and sang songs. And finally, after three days, he had a tinkle! And he was so PROUD! I don't think that I will ever forget the look on his face and his big grin. He got it. Right down to the no wet pants at bed time.
So hooray for the Potty Dance! Not that it really helped us any ~ but every time I hear it in my head I am reminded of just how proud this momma is of her two "big boys"!
Thanks for reading. Do you have any potty talk to share?
I have a few plain T's waiting around until inspiration hits. I buy most of my t-shirts at Walmart for $4 or at The Children's Place and just pluck the pockets off.
A friend posted this on FB and I just had to share:
May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born with in you. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
We have signed the boys up for soccer this spring ~ they're ready. Can you tell? That was my inspiration for these shirts. I wanted them to have something unique to wear to their first class.
I started by cutting out a freezer paper stencil using my Cricut. This was my first time using freezer paper. Totally fun!
For my Canadian peeps ~ I found Reynolds Freezer Paper at my local IGA grocery store.
I reverse appliqued 07 {the year the boys were born} using material from an old onesie.
And the piece-de-la-resistance ~ my hand cut, painted and appliqued soccer balls.
When you have twins it's nearly impossible to find coordinating outfits like this unless they are special order. So here's the left t-shirt.
And the right t-shirt.
See how when the boys stand shoulder to shoulder they match up? Cute hey? Each t-shirt has a full appliqued soccer ball that wraps around the side.
Isaiah had a blast practicing his moves during our photo shoot.
Welcome to Inspiring Creativity ~ where we share ideas, projects and inspiration every Wednesday.
