Coming off the heels of a very challenging week, this was comforting. I have 4 boys, ages 11, 9, 6 and 2. My 2 year old is "busy" as well. Out of all 4, he has by far been my most challenging. Trips to the store...never go well!!! He is very headstrong and independent, and really fights me at every turn. I carry him out kicking and screaming most times and I can feel the stares from other shoppers. I often climb back in my van and cry all the way home feeling helpless! Two makes it doubly worse at times I am sure. I had two close in age and that was hectic enough. I have always said parenting is the hardest and most fulfilling job there is. And the most important. Everything you do and give your child every day is from YOU. All I see that you do for them and still do beside is amazing. THey are very lucky to have a mom who is in the trenches and willing to do what it takes. Heh sometimes we run in another room and scream into a pillow. It is all part of it. Noone I know is perfect. Its the occasional amazing little things they do that help you forget that they just swore at the top of there lungs somewhere or some such other totally embarrassing thing. Just keep doing what you are doing. I think you have done a wonderful job with them. Sometimes I believe it is just harder for older people especially, when they are acting up because they just don;t cope well with loud voices and such any more. And I like your ideas about the mom in the store etc. I have always tried to be a help in those cases because I REMEMBER those days and have the occasional ones with Matty now and can easily forget how it can be. Good job soldier.

I think that is a great pact to make. i totally u...

I think that is a great pact to make. i totally understand about the change kids make when they turn 2. I don't have twins, but I do have a just now 4 year old and a 20 month old. My 4 year old however has and always will I think require more attention than I can imagine. He is stubborn, hard headed, unable to bribe, loud, loves to hear himself talk, expects everything at the flip of a hat... yes that is the son I love so much! Lucky for him he cuddles me every morning... if it wasn't for that, well we won't talk about that... lol

People ask me if I'm consistent with him and I serious have had to hold back a good slap to their face... but instead of saying "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" I just smile and say we try our best.

Anyways... just read this to my sister on the phone, this post makes me happy! : )

Have a great day and Carry on Warrior! 10 hours until bedtime! : )

Thank you SO much for sharing and "keeping it...

Thank you SO much for sharing and "keeping it real". I really needed to hear the comment that your preschool teacher made to you. I have 1 son that is a busy child and my 2nd son sometimes mimics big brother which leads to two BUSY boys. It is tiring. I also love the carry on warrior, it is only a few hours until bedtime. I will remember that when I am old. Because while childhood is fleeting, when you are in the midst of it as a parent you don't want to be reminded of it. ;) Carry on warrior!
