Holiday Gallery Wall

Creating a holiday gallery wall is easier than it looks! It’s the perfect way to add a festive spirit to your space this Christmas.

Holiday Gallery Wall Tutorial

I am so excited to share this blog post with you today!  For the first time ever I swapped out my traditional gallery wall for one that is everything HOLIDAY!!  Whoop whoop!

I absolutely love it you guys!  Why was I not doing this years ago?!  It instantly transports my living space into the Christmas spirit.

My goal was to tie all of the holiday decor in my home into one unit.  So I stuck to a cream, red and rustic feel for this wall.  I also did not want to add too many new holes to the wall so I tried to follow the layout of my original gallery wall as much as I could.

I am a big fan of adding texture to a space and love the variety of decor that I added to the wall.  From picture frames to 3D reindeer heads, it all works together to add a unique holiday display to my home.

I did a massive Michaels shop to create this look!  You might recognize a few of these goodies from my recent Holiday Ribbon Pick Tutorial… be sure to check it out!  50% of my holiday gallery wall is made up of items that I already had while the other 50% is of projects that I picked up at Michaels or DIY’d.

This sign was created using a wooden backdrop found at Walmart and a wooden snowflake from Michaels that I simply spray painted white and hung onto the wood.

DIY Reindeer Head:

The reindeer was found in the scrapbooking section at Michaels.  I used a 50% off coupon so this was around $10.  Then I painted the head with white acrylic paint and spray painted the antlers with gold spray paint that I had left over from another project.  The gold paint was old so it splattered the reindeer head, leaving a look that I love.

Who knew that a splattered reindeer could look so good?!

This star from Michaels gave me a bit of trouble because I really wasn’t sure if I should stain it or paint it or leave it natural.  So I asked my friends on Facebook for advice and they helped me figure out what to do with this.  I stained it dark brown, dry brushed with white acrylic then added a red joy sign…

I love sitting in my living room with a cup of hot chocolate, the TV fireplace crackling and staring at this Holiday Gallery Wall.  It just makes me happy!
