Hello friends!  Today I am joining dozens of other talented bloggers to bring you a ton of vinyl project ideas.  I’m super excited to show you what we have in store!  But first, I have a confession, I am a vinyl virgin.  That’s right, I have NEVER used vinyl before – crazy right?!  Let me show you how easy it is to use – even for a newbie!

So this slide used to be yellow (THAT tutorial is coming soon) and had absolutely NO personality.  Now it is a fun addition to our backyard!

Being that this was my first time… working with vinyl, I decided to go old-school and cut out my letters by hand.  I simply sketched the letters onto the back of the vinyl (mirrored) and cut them out with scissors.  You could totally use a cutting machine if you have one but I like to show you that it is possible to work with vinyl without adding a Cricut to your Christmas list.

So basically you cut out your letters then apply the transfer tape to the front of the vinyl letters then peel the backing off of the vinyl and stick the letters wherever you want them.  Use the application tool to gently  press the letters to the surface of your project.  This was super easy to do!  I didn’t even need the transfer tape for my larger letters.  I simply peeled and stuck the vinyl to the slide.

Now we have a cool addition to our outdoor space.  The boys are scheming and trying to come up with a way to turn this into a water slide from our pool to the deck!  LOL  And now I think that I need to apply vinyl to ALL OF THE THINGS!!!  Like a decal for our shed by the pool…. or a sign for the front door to let people know were are just out back… hmmmm the possibilities are endless!!  Have you worked with vinyl?!  I would love to see your ideas in the comments.  And be sure to check out all of the awesome vinyl projects in the linky below…
