Superhero Key Chain

Have you been checking out all of the fun guest projects this week?
I have been so inspired by our
One For The Boys
series this season!
So inspired that I have a few more boy projects to share.
I will be posting them in the evenings following our fabulous guest bloggers so be sure to scroll down to get in on all of the boy action.
IMG_4541 Do you drag your kids with you to the fabric store?
If you do, then you too may have been conned into buying some licenced prints.
Mooommmmmmmy!  Can I have the Ironman one?  Pleeeeeeease?
Now what to do with these loud, often uncoordinated prints?
Why, create key chains {and other fun accessories ~ stay tuned} of course!
IMG_4535 Isaiah actually came up with the idea.
He was watching me make a bunch of Ruffled Key Fobs for a craft fair and said that he would like me to make him a green one please.  I took it a step further and pulled out this superhero fabric.
IMG_4536I cut out a section with Spiderman for Isaiah {his favorite hero}.
The measurements for these were:
11.5″ x 2.5 ” red fabric
11.5″ x 2.5″ superhero fabric
1.5″ x 5.5″ red fabric
I sewed the two long pieces together, right sides facing.  Inverted and slipped the clasp onto the strap.  Then I folded one end of the strap over the clasp and brought the other end to meet it.  I used the small piece of red fabric to cover where both ends of the strap meet.
IMG_4537Spiderman and I hooked up for a fun little photo shoot when all was said and done.
IMG_4540 Of course I created an Ironman one for Cameron too.
I had to quickly hide these so that I can put them in the boys stockings at Christmas.
Although I think that I was busted a few times 😉
No, the boys don’t have a set of house keys.
But they love to clip things together and hang things off of other things…
And these would make great lanyards for gym passes and name badges too!
See you soon!
